‘Anti-genocide’ crowd urges Hamas to reject Trump’s peace deal despite Arab support

Left-wing activists who accuse Israel of committing a genocide against Palestinians in Gaza are urging Hamas to reject President Trump’s peace deal that would end the fighting in the Gaza Strip.

Israel readily agreed to the 20-point plan, which would require an immediate end to hostilities. It offers amnesty to Hamas, which would be required to release all remaining hostages and demilitarize. Israel would have to gradually withdraw its troops and release almost 2,000 Palestinian criminals, including terrorists and 250 prisoners serving life sentences. Generous amounts of food, water, and fuel would be provided to Gaza, overseen by Hamas-aligned entities like the UN and the Red Crescent.

Temporarily, Gaza would be governed by a “Board of Peace” composed of Palestinians and chaired by President Trump. Eventually, the Palestinian Authority would retake control of the Gaza Strip once it completes a reform program. Hamas would not be allowed to participate in any governance, directly or indirectly.

An economic development plan would see Gaza rebuilt and “create jobs, opportunity, and hope for future Gaza.”

Not only would no Gazans be forced to leave, but the plan encourages them to remain and help rebuild Gaza.

Israel would be prohibited from occupying or annexing Gaza.

“While Gaza re-development advances and when the PA reform program is faithfully carried out, the conditions may finally be in place for a credible pathway to Palestinian self-determination and statehood, which we recognize as the aspiration of the Palestinian people,” the plan states.

The deal is backed by Arab countries including Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates. Hamas, which has yet to agree to the plan, is being urged by Western Leftists to reject it.

The Left lashes out

Shortly after the peace plan was released on Monday, hundreds of pro-Palestinians gathered outside the White House to protest it, calling for an intifada and to “free Gaza.”

The New Policy, a pro-Iran and pro-Palestinian account on X, claimed the plan would displace Gazans and allow Israel to annex the Strip while refusing the Palestinians to govern it—despite the plan’s express statements to the contrary.

“What do the Palestinians get from the ‘peace deal’? Nothing: No land. No state. No government. No future,” the user said. “All Palestinians will be displaced immediately. Israel will ethnically cleanse and annex both the West Bank and Gaza. When Hamas disputes this insane proposal, Trump will back Netanyahu's genocide even more than today, under the pretext of “I tried to make peace, but Hamas wants it ‘the hard way’. So, there’s that. A far worse future awaits Palestine now….”

Roshan Salih, a British Muslim journalist, wrote: “The Palestinians must reject this surrender deal.”

Yasemine Acar, a member of the Sumud flotilla, said the “peace plan offered terms of surrender, not terms of justice.” The flotilla is currently on its way to Gaza to cause an international incident that will embarrass the Israelis.

Cenk Uygur, a Muslim influencer, told his followers that he would only support the deal if Hamas agrees to it.

Medea Benjamin, co-founder of the radical Left group Code Pink, called the plan “a surrender to the colonial/imperial powers.”

‘Everything they have said for two years is a lie’

Many users pointed out that if the claims about a genocide against Palestinians were true, they would not hesitate to accept the deal.

“Nothing says genocide like rejecting a peace plan,” said one netizen.

Another wrote: “Yes, whatever you Palestinians do, don't surrender to living in peace, having Gaza rebuilt, your children in school and healthy, your culture thriving, hospitals running, food supplies abundant and all the things that come when you decide you can manage to live side by side with Israel instead of replacing it. Don't surrender to a better future!”

“If the Palestinians are experiencing a genocide - they will accept the deal,” said screenwriter Lee Kern. “If the Palestinians want peace - they will accept the deal. If the Palestinians want a state - they will accept the deal. If they do not - then everything they have said for two years is a lie. They are simply jihadist racists who want to kill non-muslims and who pose as victims to the world.”
