Far-Left Islamist Senate candidate vows censorship

Abdul El-Sayed, a radical Left-wing Islamist running for Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat, is openly vowing to push censorship policies under the guise of combating “Islamophobia.”
El-Sayed made his remarks at a recent Michigan Senate Candidate Forum hosted by Emgage Action, an Islamic political action committee with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood—the international Islamist organization that spawned Hamas.
During the forum, the moderator raised concerns about a supposed “increase in Islamophobia,” particularly in Michigan’s densely Muslim communities. El-Sayed responded by accusing critics—especially conservative journalist Laura Loomer—of “inciting violence” by criticizing him.
“As an Arab and Muslim American in public life, every time Laura Loomer tweets about me, my mentions look a particular kind of way,” El-Sayed said. “A lot of that is about inciting violence.”
From there, El-Sayed called for the censorship of what he labels “hate speech” on social media. While claiming to respect free speech, he vowed to pressure Big Tech companies into changing their algorithms “So I do think that we need to strengthen hate crime laws to protect people,” he went on. “But I also think we need to take a root cause approach to this, which is the way that we’ve watched as social media companies have weaponized algorithms against particular people. I do think that there’s a responsibility to hold Big Tech accountable for the kind of hate speech that goes out on their platforms. That’s not to say that you would limit anybody’s speech. Everybody has a right to free speech. But you don’t have a right to inciting violence, and you also don’t have a right to algorithmic amplification. Just because you said something doesn’t mean the algorithm should pump it, simply because it gets an emotional response from a group of people who happen to agree with you. And I think that enrichment of that hate speech has been a really big part of the problem.”
“I’m looking forward to working with senators in the US Senate to take on Big Tech and hold them accountable for the kind of hate that they perpetuate in our society,” El-Sayed added.
‘Choke out’ Trump supporters
El-Sayed, who has previously expressed support for the Muslim Brotherhood, enjoys the backing of far-left icons Bernie Sanders (I–VT) and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D–NY). On their recent “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, El-Sayed urged Democrats to abandon restraint against conservatives:
“We need Democrats who have the courage to stand up to the Democrats in our own party, let alone Trump and his ghouls,” he declared. “With all due respect, if they go low, we don’t go high. We take them to the mat and choke them out.”
Supporting medical mutilation for kids
As part of his radical platform, El-Sayed is also a staunch advocate for medical mutilation procedures for minors, including puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones. Contrary to claims by gender activists, these interventions cause irreversible sterility, anorgasmia, and lifelong regret, and other harms.
While serving as Director of the Wayne County Department of Health, El-Sayed promoted these procedures for children, earning accolades from LGBT activist groups.
“During his time at the Wayne County Health Department, he worked hand in hand with LGBTQ+ organizations to ensure access to compassionate, affirming care,” the Michigan Democratic Party’s LGBT&A Caucus boasted in a recent endorsement statement.
