Iranians express outrage as the West’s Leftists protest for the Islamic regime

Iranian expatriates have expressed outrage at recent demonstrations in Western countries, where far-Left activists have taken to the streets to show their support for the totalitarian Islamic Republic of Iran.
Protests erupted in New York and other cities after President Donald Trump ordered strikes on several nuclear sites in Iran on Saturday night. Demonstrators gathered outside the White House in Washington, DC and in Western countries like Germany and Australia, holding signs that read “Hands Off Iran” and “No US-Israel War on Iran.” Some protesters draped themselves in the Islamic kheffiyeh head garb while others carried the Iranian flag or posters of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khameini.
The Ayatollah’s regime executed over 700 Iranians in 2023 alone, according to Human Rights Watch. That figure doesn’t include women like Mahsa Amini, who was killed in prison after being arrested by morality police for not wearing her hijab. Other women, like actress Azadeh Samadi, were forced to undergo treatment for “antisocial personality disorder” after being seen wearing a hat instead of a hijab. In 2009, when Iranian dissidents formed a Green Movement and organized protests, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps opened fire on the demonstrators, killing dozens. Homosexuality in Iran is punishable by death. The regime has been known to restrict internet access to prevent Iranians from coordinating protests against the government.
Iranians—particularly women—took to social media to express their outrage at the Left’s support for the Islamic regime.
Feminists ‘stand with our oppressors’
“Today, we Iranians are faced with something truly unbelievable: Western, liberal, ‘woke’ feminists, clueless about the brutal reality in our country, consistently stand with our oppressors under the delusion of saviorism. They have no understanding of the decades of humiliation, violence, and systemic oppression we’ve endured under the Islamic Republic,” wrote Iranian national Sana Ebrahimi in an X post.
“Driven by their own need to feel morally superior, they claim to fight for justice while turning a blind eye to the suffering of millions. And let’s be honest, they are some of the most racist voices out there. They look at Iranians and other ‘brown people’ as too backward, too uncivilized, too dumb to deserve real freedom or democracy. In their eyes, we’re wild animals, only manageable under tyranny.
“But here’s the truth: we are the ones fighting for real freedom, the same freedom they weaponize to silence us. And we want absolutely nothing to do with their hypocrisy.”
‘Thousands of useful idiots were supporting our murderers’
Faezeh Alavi, an Iranian expatriate in London, felt compelled to join a counter-protest against a large demonstration in support of Iran’s regime.
“I saw it today: the UK is finished,” Alavi wrote. “Khamenei is hated in Iran but apparently he has a base in the UK. I proudly joined today's ‘Free Iran’ counter-protest with my fellow Iranians/Israelis. Thousands of useful idiots were supporting our murderers in London.”
‘Shame on you’
In a TikTok video, an Iranian woman named Nairi Mehrabian addressed Democrats supporting the Islamic regime.
“I want to go over a few rules and laws in Iran about women,” she began. “Basically, it’s everything against what Democrats believe.”
Mehrabian said women in Iran are seen as having “half a brain,” so that the court system counts three female witnesses as the equivalent of one male witness. A mother who wishes to divorce her husband can only have child custody until the child reaches seven years old, at which point the father can assume full custody. Iranian police tend not to interfere with domestic violence against women, which is considered a “private family matter.” A single woman who wishes to travel outside Iran must obtain the written approval of her father or brother, and a married woman must obtain written approval from her husband. Women are prohibited from being judges in Iran. A woman who kills her husband for being unfaithful is hanged, while a husband who kills his unfaithful wife and her lover is unlikely to face charges. If a woman sentenced to death is a virgin, she will sometimes be raped before the execution, as Islam frowns on killing virgins. Women are forbidden from singing publicly.
Sexual harassment and assault are commonplace in Iran, according to Mehrabian, who said she was subjected to harassment and molestation on a daily basis during her 27 years in the Islamic country. Men fondle women with impunity, on the street, in taxis, and other settings.
“This was just a very, very small amount of the things that [are] going on in Iran against women,” she said. “So next time that any person that lives in Europe and in America and they want to support Iran’s government, just think about all this. And shame on you if you do [support the regime.].”
