Left-wing activist network helps child rapist escape arrest

A Left-wing activist network helped an illegal alien child rapist escape arrest by federal agents from the FBI and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Friday.
“This morning ICE & [FBI Denver] were attempting to arrest Jose Reyes Leon-Deras, a criminal alien from El Salvador who is convicted of and wanted for child rape in Italy,” ICE Denver posted to X. “During our surveillance of Leon, members of Colorado Rapid Response arrived on scene and alerted him to law enforcement’s presence which allowed him to escape arrest.”
“Groups like this interfere with ICE’s ability to keep communities safe,” the local ICE office continued. “If you know his whereabouts, do not approach, if seen, instead report all info to ICE at 1-866-347-2423.”
Many on social media reacted to CRRN’s maneuver by calling for the organization’ members' arrest for obstructing justice, though ICE has voiced no such plans.
What is the CRRN?
Colorado Rapid Response Network (CRRN) is a coalition of far-Left groups that work together to foil ICE raids across Colorado and southern Wyoming. The organization claims it was formed in 2017 in response to President Trump’s election victory, despite no mass deportations being carried out at the time.
“After Trump was elected in November of 2016, a group came together to better coordinate efforts and gave rise to two areas of work, sanctuary schools and the Colorado Rapid Response Network,” CRRN says on its website.
CRRN includes the ACLU, Colorado People’s Alliance, Together Colorado, Mi Familia Vota, United for a New Economy, Movimiento Poder (formerly known as Padres y Jóvenes Unidos), the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition (CIRC), and the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC). The AFSC’s donors include the States of Colorado and New Jersey, along with the European Union and the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund.
