Pro-Palestinian actress mocked after Palestinians blur her out

An actress who used her spotlight at Sunday’s Emmy Awards to pledge her support to Palestine is being roundly mocked after Palestinians censored her bare skin.

Hannah Einbinder wore a strapless low-cut gown to the Emmys, where she won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. She had pinned a red hand to her dress, a decades-old symbol signifying the lynching of Jews by Palestinians. At the end of her acceptance speech, Einbinder chanted: “Go Birds, f**k ICE, and free Palestine” to laughter and applause from the glitzy attendees.

Quds News Network, a Palestinian news agency affiliated with Hamas, tweeted the clip of Einbinder’s speech while blurring out her chest, shoulders, and arms. The actress’s pro-Palestine pin was hidden as well.

‘Gaza isn't the feminist artist collective that Hannah thinks it is’

The Hamas-linked news account deleted the post after social media users pointed out the irony.

“Hannah Einbinder decided to support Palestine and Hamas reposted her pictures... by blurring out half of her body. If only she knew what would happen to her if she actually went to Islam-occupied Gaza,” one user wrote.

“Love the irony of standing with a terrorism movement that hates women so much they censor your shoulders,” wrote political commentator Brianna Wu.

Iranian activist Nioh Berg wrote: “This is how the Arab Qods News Network shared Hannah Einbinder's ‘Free Palestine’ message. Hey Hannah, The people you scream on behalf of think so little of your rights as a woman that they CENSOR your entire upper body. Are you proud of yourself?”

Another user commented: “Predictably, Hamas-linked Palestinian media outlet QNN uses Hannah Einbinder's anti-Israel comments as propaganda while blurring out her shoulders, because, as it seems, Gaza isn't the feminist artist collective that Hannah thinks it is.”

Einbinder, one of 3,900 Hollywood Leftists to recently sign a letter pledging to boycott Israeli film companies and institutions, was not the only attendee to pledge her loyalty to Palestine. Javier Bardem made a political statement by arriving in a kheffiyeh and raising his fist while accusing Israel of a “genocide” and declaring “Free Palestine!”

Charlie who?

The Emmy Awards ceremony drew widespread criticism for its conspicuous failure to mention Right-wing figure Charlie Kirk, whose assassination last week shook the nation. His death was announced by President Trump and condemned by world leaders, and has dominated the news cycle since Wednesday.

"Not a single word was uttered at the Emmys about the assassination, days before, of Charlie Kirk, arguably the most high-profile killing of a political figure since the ’60s in this country,” said journalist Bari Weiss. “You know, the one where the Emmys take place, and where its nominees presumably live. What happened to Kirk, in the minds of the actors at the Emmys, was perhaps something that happened online, to someone uncool and on the wrong side of history."

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) also weighed in. “Hollywood claims they’re all about free speech. And yet not even ONE of them could muster a word about ⁦@charliekirk11 being assassinated because of his speech,” he wrote on X. “But they did come out for open borders & against Israel….”
